Math Outreach

High School Math Day

I was one of the organizers of HSMD 2024, a joyous math festival with original math problems and original merch! HSMD is for everyone, we have two tracks: Exploratory and Competitive. There are also math activities during the day, a lecture by an invited speaker (Will Perkins this year!), and a panel with professors and graduate students.

If you want to volunteer for us or submit problems please let me know! I am currently organizing HSMD 2025.

2024 HSMD solutions are out! Feel free to use them as resources (just credit us)!

Science of the Circus

For the Atlanta Science Festival, Extant Dream, Challenge Aerial, and Atlanta Circus Alliance present Science of the Circus! This year the performance was on Sunday, March 10th, 2:30 - 3:00 pm and 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm. I choreographed an aerial silks act that showcases the mathematical concept of braids. Let me know if you want to get involved in the future years, or if you want to help me with my "Dance Your Ph.D" project!

The video of this year's performance can be found here: Video.

ACO Student Seminar

I am one of the organizers of the ACO Student Seminar. Please reach out to me if you want to give a talk!

Directed Reading Program
Currently I am reading a paper “Generating Uniformly Distributed Random Latin Squares” by Jacobson and Matthews with two undergraduate students (Fall 2024). Please reach out to me if you would want to join this reading group or start a new one.

Events that deserve your attention: Probability and Statistics High School Competition. This is a small worksheet made for the Night at the Teaching Museum 2023, which explored basic knot theory through movement. (Very fun to do with large group of high schoolers)
